To be simple means to enjoy existence in every moment, to be devoid of ego. The ego is the false personality. Where there is ego there is no mystery because it tends to pride in stupidity. In poker it is the same. Even if poker seems so simply in reality it is very complex. It doesn’t implies only to sit a table with some people, receiving cards, betting, winning or losing, it also implies some decisions that can be either outstanding, either horrible. Each aspect offers a wide variety of opportunities to choose different strategic paths to take.

In poker you must let your ego at the door. You don’t have to expect that you will always win. It is not possible, for you to win has to be someone to lose. And maybe tomorrow you will not be the winner, but the one you have defeated will win. Even the most experienced poker players make mistakes and lose. But when you win you have to behave like a true gentleman or lady. You can shake the hand of the dealer or the other player, you should have an appropriate attitude and you should not give some sort of a victory yell.

You don’t have to be so naïve to think that you could be a winner overnight. Nobody starts playing poker today and ends tomorrow in a winner. Poker it is a tough game, it needs skills ,practice, and a lot of patience but also self discipline. There are many people who played poker for many years and they didn’t become constant winners. The greatest players in the world make mistakes all the time, if only because there are literally so many choices to make, often with precious little information to decide with. But part of being a top player is understanding you aren’t perfect, understanding you can always improve, understanding that there is a bottomless pit of things you don’t know for sure about poker.

Another thing to consider is that there are a lot of varieties of poker. So if you are good at one poker variety, this doesn’t mean that you can excel at other forms of poker. You can be good when playing poker with your friends, but you can easily lose when playing poker in a casino or online. It is good to keep track of your poker statistics so you know which form of poker you play best. Once you have identify this axe yourself on playing only that form, but if your statistics show that you are a constant loser, this means that your skills are not so developed and you should learn and practice more poker without loss.

Poker is the sum of the effects of hundreds of events that by themselves are not important , but taken together make all the difference in the world. Poker is a complex, difficult game that no one has ever, or will ever, truly master.
